The Assistant Dean for Administration & Chief of Staff at Seattle University School of Law is responsible for the management and oversight of administrative operations within the School of Law.
As Chief of Staff this position will assist the Dean of the School of Law with strategic planning initiatives, policy and process development and implementation, and will operate as a high‑level adviser, connector, communicator, and facilitator with/for the Dean and internal and external constituents.
The Assistant Dean and Chief of Staff’s job performance should result in efficient management of the School of Law’s administrative operations, achievement of de‑cadal priorities, and the execution of the school’s strategic planning process.
The Assistant Dean for Administration & Chief of Staff reports to the Dean and is a member of the Dean’s Executive Cabinet.
Essential Position Responsibilities- Serve as liaison between the Dean and various internal and external constituencies including university departments.
- Represent the Dean and School of Law in an ex‑officio capacity on committees and special projects at the discretion of the Dean.
- Act as a key advisor to the Dean and recommend to the Dean action on university and school policies and procedures.
- Assist the Dean in providing leadership that fosters mutual respect among all constituencies of the school.
- Be familiar with all current issues being managed by the Dean to be able to communicate with individuals and groups regarding these issues.
