Export Supervisor

JAS Forwarding is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company that offers air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services.

• Manage and oversee the export department to ensure freight movement out of the country via air and ocean in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Develop efficient and effective flow of work to attain optimum productivity and department efficiency.
• Identify problems and implement solutions to correct them.
• Utilize reports to quantify and prioritize workload.
• Manage communication with export authorities, customers, and suppliers in all relevant countries to ensure efficient, positive, lawful relationships and support activities.
• Initiate and promote change to increase organizational effectiveness.
• Ensure staff have the training and resources necessary to perform their jobs.
• Oversee supervisory tasks to direct and control end‑to‑end air freight export processes.
• Serve as the escalation contact for customer export shipments, responsible for financial aspects and results; set, communicate, and drive KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Supervise staff; hire, coach, train, and develop subordinate staff.
• Assign work, set completion dates, review work, and manage performance per organizational policies and performance management processes.
• Represent the company in its relationships with major customers, suppliers, competitors, and commercial stakeholders.

• Conduct performance evaluations for export department staff.
• Recommend hiring, firing, and promotion decisions.
• Identify and resolve personnel issues.
• Create an environment that encourages professional development.
• Ensure employees comply with organizational policy, procedures, and performance programs.

• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (desirable).

• Understanding of regulatory compliance with export rules and regulations.
• Strong customer service skills and outgoing personality.

High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

5+ years of Air/Ocean export experience in a freight forwarding environment; 2+ years of supervisory experience developing staff.

Strong customer service skills and outgoing personality. Cargowise experience is strongly preferred. Understanding of Export Compliance Regulations.

100% performed in a climate‑controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel up to 10% required. The employee regularly sits, stands, walks, uses hands and fingers to feel and handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks and hears; frequently stoops, kneels, crouches; lifts weight or exerts force up to 25 pounds.

Pay range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year. Benefits include dental, vision, health insurance, 401(k), bonuses (depending on role), and more.
