Job Summary

Riparia Environmental is seeking an Environmental Restoration Project Manager for our team in Fife, WA. As a Project Manager, you will oversee and manage environmental restoration projects, including habitat restoration, stormwater management, wetland restoration, stream restoration, habitat mitigation, or similar ecological projects. This role involves leading, scheduling, and training field teams, ensuring accurate documentation of project progress, site conditions, and regulatory compliance.

You will assess project sites, determine necessary actions, and oversee the implementation of plans to meet project goals. The Project Manager serves as the face of Riparia’s restoration efforts to clients, managing relationships and growing our portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities Client Communication
  • Manage and nurture client relationships from start to finish, including outreach, communication, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Drive business growth by cultivating new client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand into new geographical markets.
Team Management and Training
  • Lead and oversee crew members in the execution of restoration projects, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
  • Perform on-site inspections and assessments of restoration sites.
  • Train field crews on how to perform on-site inspections and assessments of restoration sites.
  • Ensure field crews accurately document site conditions, completed work, and required follow-up actions.
Project Execution
  • Prepare and deliver clear project updates and assessment reports, including written summaries, verbal reports, and supporting photographs.
  • Maintain and enhance project tracking systems within Vantagepoint to track progress, site evaluations, and ongoing or seasonal restoration activities.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, resource allocation, and adherence to financial targets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project schedules, ensuring work progresses on time by proactively monitoring timelines and addressing potential delays.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience managing and directing field crews on ecological or restoration projects, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in client contract management.
  • Direct experience in ecological or habitat restoration and familiarity with applicable regulations and best management practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read, understand, and verify construction plans, environmental permits, and best management practices related to restoration projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe software.
  • Certification or the ability to obtain relevant certifications in restoration management, such as Licensed Herbicide Applicator, Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles is required.
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate prior to employment.
  • Physical ability to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist, and work in the outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely. Site visits may involve exposure to weather extremes and rough terrain.
