General Purpose
The Regional Logistics Senior Manager oversees 4-5 cross docks and drives operational, financial and loss prevention goals, influencing third‑party logistics providers without direct authority. The role balances service to Ross customers and adherence to budgets while protecting company assets. This position combines operations excellence with interpersonal skills to foster meaningful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions Driving Operational Performance- Provide guidance, tools and information to meet or exceed key operational metrics such as on‑time deliveries, unloads and mis‑directs.
- Collaborate with logistics provider leadership to align on prioritization of operational opportunities.
- Manage projects with operational implications, including MHE installations, route optimization, floor layout, load balancing and peak planning.
- Facilitate transitions, moves or new openings of cross dock facilities.
- Manage on‑time delivery performance, partnering with zone and district managers on schedules and peak routes.
- Track location performance against budget.
- Understand and apply the logistics provider’s contract and Ross’s cost models.
- Report deviations from budget due to operational or cost issues.
- Communicate financial performance and steps to bring providers in line with budget expectations.
- Ensure providers manage all aspects of the P&L statement.
- Collaborate with transportation leadership to identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining service levels.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with 3rd‑party providers, cross dock partners and key vendors.
- Facilitate clear communication between Ross operations, cross dock partners and store leadership.
- Drive change through influential leadership and stakeholder management.
- Build consensus across stakeholder groups to improve processes.
- Resolve conflicts, coach and problem‑solve across multiple departments.
- Explain complex operations to a variety of audiences.
- Navigate complex organizational dynamics to get things done.
- Ensure provider compliance with the company’s TSR and required audits.
- Perform and verify self‑audits to maximize audit success.
- Validate loss prevention work orders and coordinate with the Area Loss Prevention Manager when onsite.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7–10 years of manager‑level transportation experience, including outbound retail deliveries.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels.
- High‑level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of current and upcoming transportation regulations.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Bachelor’s or MBA in transportation, logistics or business.
- Direct P&L responsibilities.
- 10–15 years of outbound retail transportation management experience.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills.
No unusual physical requirements. Routine tasks include sitting, handling objects with hands, standing, walking, reaching, speaking, hearing and lifting up to 10 pounds. The role requires travel up to 75% and primary work location is home‑based with regular visits to cross dock facilities.
