Deicing Operations Manager - SEA Airport
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of field operations, including leading the operations team, coordinating with airlines and airport authorities, and ensuring the implementation of operational procedures and policies. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, this role is key in crisis management, handling emergencies and disruptions in close collaboration with senior leadership. Continuous analysis and improvement of operational processes to increase overall efficiency.
Responsibilities include managing the delivery of services for customer airlines and airports in accordance with the contract and within the agreed budget level, ensuring safety and security policies and procedures are in accordance with all applicable standards set, liaising with airline station managers, airport operations managers, handling agents, Customs, Immigration and Security officials, and other airport stakeholders, managing local recruiting and staffing initiatives, monitoring performance and taking action to correct any shortfalls, collaborating with senior leadership on operational gaps, irregularities and audits, guiding and mentoring the local team, investigating and reporting all accidents, incidents, and irregularities, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws as well as required security measures, promoting and supporting workplace diversity initiatives, assisting and/or leading startup operations across all lines of business, the ability to backfill open leadership positions during times of vacancy, and performing any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, legally authorized to work in the country of employment, able to work in office, onsite, Monday-Friday, having 5 years of leadership/operational experience, minimum 2 years of airport deicing experience, established leader in managing large teams, project management experience is a plus, in-depth knowledge of airport operational procedures and regulatory requirements, strong leadership and team management skills, holding a valid driver's license, communicating effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking), effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means, passing a background check and drug screen, travel requirement >75% travel between airport stations and for meetings, and being flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations.
