The Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) is seeking a compassionate and strategic Director of Senior Programs to lead a continuum of programs and services that support older adults, caregivers, and vulnerable community members. This role oversees programming anchored at the Greenwood Senior Center and across satellite locations, serving as a central access point for connection, support, and resources. Programs include nutrition services, social and recreational activities, memory loss programming, caregiver and peer support, wellness offerings, and social services such as resource navigation and referrals.
The Senior Programs Director reports to the Executive Director and serves on the organization’s leadership team, helping shape strategic direction, organizational priorities, and policy. This role currently leads a team of approximately 14 staff, including 8 direct reports, and works closely with internal teams and community partners to strengthen PNA’s role in the broader aging and human services network.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a member of PNA’s leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and organizational direction
- Help define and implement long-term priorities for senior programs and services
- Champion a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging across programs and staff
- Provide leadership across programs supporting older adults and caregivers
- Ensure programs such as the Greenwood Senior Center, PNA Village, and Memory Loss programs remain responsive and impactful
- Oversee program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement
- Ensure alignment with organizational policies, industry standards, and funder requirements
- Oversee contracts, reporting, and compliance with public and private funding
- Develop and implement systems to track outcomes and measure impact
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers, and funders
- Represent PNA in community meetings, coalitions, and regional networks
- Strengthening referral systems and expanding access to community resources
- Oversee program budgets and financial performance
- Partner with PNA’s Development team on grants, reporting, and funding strategy
- Support program sustainability through contracts and partnerships
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture
- Ensure programs create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for participants
- Passion for working with older adults and building community
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit program leadership, ideally in senior services
- At least 3 years of people management experience
- Experience managing programs, budgets, and cross-functional teams
- Strong relationship-builder with excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position with a salary range of $81,000 – $84,000, depending on experience. PNA offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, long-term disability insurance, a flexible spending account, and a PNA household membership. Employees accrue and may use up to three weeks of paid time off (PTO) in their first year, increasing annually with tenure.
