Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead and support the global expansion of new AWS regions. The role involves coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing schedules, assessing risks, and ensuring the timely launch of new regions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Support AWS global expansion as a technical program manager for new region builds.
- Work closely with Service Teams, Infrastructure, Business Development, and Product Teams to design and deliver region solutions.
- Develop schedules and deliverables that ensure timely launch of new regions.
- Assess risks, anticipate issues, overcome technical obstacles, and make trade‑off decisions to balance business needs and technical constraints.
- Represent program status to senior leadership and influence team decisions to drive secure and scalable solutions.
- Research and develop new region build methodologies to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
- 5+ years of technical program management with software engineering teams.
- Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
- Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- Experience defining KPIs, SLAs used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
Base salary ranges:
USA, VA, Arlington – $ – $ annually
USA, VA, Herndon – $ – $ annually
USA, WA, Seattle – $ – $ annually
