The Seattle Police Department is pleased to announce an opportunity for the position of Executive Director of Human Resources (Ord.

Title:

Executive 4, Exempt). SPD is the largest municipal law enforcement agency in the state of Washington, with an annual budget of over $488 million. The Department consists of more than 1,100 uniformed members and approximately 500 professional employees. Employees are represented by multiple bargaining units.

The Executive Director of Human Resources is a key management position reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This position plays a vital role in developing, implementing and communicating human resources strategies that align with the goals of the department, with an emphasis on equity and inclusion in alignment with the City's Race and Social Justice Initiative. With a division budget of approximately $26.8 million, the Director manages the work of 46 personnel to design, implement, and administer all human resources initiatives and systems.

The full salary range for this position is $93.16 - $153.70 per hour. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) regular position with full benefits, is FLSA exempt (not eligible for overtime), and falls under the discretionary pay band (for additional information, please visit Personnel Rule 3.2 - Accountability Pay for Executives Pay Program). This is a Civil Service position and FLSA exempt (not eligible for overtime).
