Position: Vice Dean for Finance and Administration

Overview

The University of Washington School of Dentistry is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its Vice Dean for Finance and Administration. Reporting directly to the Dean and working in close partnership with senior leaders across the School of Dentistry and the University of Washington, the Vice Dean for Finance and Administration serves as the School s Chief Finance and Business Officer. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight for the School s financial operations, clinical business services, and facilities infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the School s financial operations, clinical business services, and facilities infrastructure.
  • Serve as the School s Chief Finance and Business Officer, reporting to the Dean and working in close partnership with senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to advance the School s mission in education, patient care, community service, and innovation.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive financial/business leadership experience, preferably in higher education, academic medicine, dentistry, or healthcare, including experience managing complex, multi-revenue-stream enterprises.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Experience with Workday or other enterprise accounting systems.
