Overview
Employee Benefits Account Representative II – Hybrid or Remote in Southern CA. This role is a key member of HUB’s Customer Service team, providing critical support in account management, claims management, and underwriting services for mid to large group markets. The representative collaborates with Producers and the Account Team to manage a book of business, maintain client relationships, support retention, and ensure strong carrier relationships.
Job Responsibilities- Coordinate day‑to‑day service for employee benefits clients, maintaining relationships and supporting retention.
- Manage client deliverables from strategic planning, stewardship reports, renewal and marketing processes, open enrollment, and special projects.
- Handle claims and coverage issue resolution for employees, elevating matters from the Hub International My Benefits Champion call center when necessary.
- Assist with client billing, eligibility audits, and occasionally conduct audits independently.
- Advise clients on compliance matters and develop open enrollment presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Conduct benefits webinars and record Brainshark presentations for employees and HR managers.
- Create employee benefit booklets with the C&D Team using Microsoft Publisher.
- Prepare open enrollment (OE) packets, including SBCs and disclosure notices.
- Collaborate with Marketing on distribution of My Benefits Champion communication materials and report utilization trends to clients.
- Manage new carrier, plan or vendor implementation, including benefits administration system build‑out and project management.
- Perform contract reviews and prepare SPD Wraps, Cafeteria and POP Plan documents, master group files, client contact sheets, and carrier files.
- Support the Account Executive in strategy and execution efforts.
HUB International offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, FSA, HSA, and 401(k) accounts, paid time‑off, and eligible bonuses and commissions for full‑time positions (30+ hours). The expected salary range is $64,480.00 to $85,000.00, adjusted for skills, experience, education, licensing, location, and business complexity.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an Account Manager, Account Representative, or Benefits Analyst in the employee benefits arena (equivalent education and experience acceptable).
- Must hold a valid CA Life Agent license or be able to obtain one.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of project‑management and database software preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write routine reports and deliver presentations to groups.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Teamwork support, initiative, quality management, and project‑management abilities are essential.
