The Opportunity

In this role, as a National Conveyance Lead you will have the opportunity to:

  • Set strategy and raise the visibility of Black & Veatch’s Conveyance business with internal and external clients through meetings, technical presentations, conferences, pursuits, projects, and workshops.
  • Serve as the National Conveyance Lead responsible for development of new business, supporting project work and building/developing teams to achieve our business growth and execution goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for annual business planning and overall strategic direction to achieve new business growth and earned revenue targets while managing risks and building a reputation for exceeding expectations.
  • Create a brand around our service offering and raise visibility with internal clients, including Client Directors and Project Managers.
  • Coordinate with other Civil Works Sub‑Portfolio Leads to achieve business growth and develop a team of supporting staff.
  • Define resource gaps within the Conveyance business, P&L centers, and Operations and play a significant role in recruiting new talent to fill identified gaps.
  • Maintain frequent communication with client‑facing resources to understand market opportunity.
  • Play a key role in new business development, collaborating with Client Directors and Project Managers on strategies and tactics to improve capture of opportunities.
  • Support teaming discussions and pre‑positioning activities for opportunities.
  • During the proposal phase of a pursuit, establish the organizational structure, identify qualifications, develop the technical approach and messaging.
  • Participate in preparations for oral interviews on selected pursuits, including coaching the team and supporting delivery and messaging.
  • For high‑profile pursuits, be considered for key positions such as Project Director or Project Manager.
  • Maintain awareness of projects under contract and ensure profitability and risk management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements such as background checks and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong market knowledge across the United States in pipelines and pump stations.
  • Visible leadership in related professional societies.
  • Experience as a subject matter expert in pipeline and pump station design or related appurtenances.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in pursuit or execution phases of a project or program.
  • Experience recruiting top talent and mentoring others.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; prior project management or execution experience is also preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion, performance, and assignments. Must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
