Your main responsibilities

Project Manager
- Modernization (MOD)

As a Schindler Project Manager, you will work with sales reps and customers to ensure specifications are met; collaborate with Schindler superintendents and engineering to resolve technical problems; and coordinate with local and regional management to ensure high-quality, financially successful installations/modernizations. This role is customer-focused and requires building strong customer relationships to advance Schindler’s presence and help achieve financial goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow and accurately manage new installation/modernization projects to ensure close-out at the required efficiency and profitability levels
  • Review and book projects within one week of award; notify the Manager if required completion dates cannot be met and provide an action plan and timeline
  • Provide approved submittals to Schindler Engineering and/or local vendors; coordinate with factory, vendors, and superintendent to ensure material readiness before project start date
  • Interface with the Field Superintendent to track progress and notify management if completion dates cannot be met; provide action plan and timeline
  • Seek change notice opportunities; prepare all change order paperwork and forward to the customer timely; follow up on change orders and obtain signed change orders from the customer prior to related work
  • Ensure timely invoicing and ensure projects are invoiced and paid to 90% before elevator turnover
  • Participate in company professional development programs to enhance knowledge of elevator products, services, and procedures

Base Salary $113,400 - $141,700

The above represents the typical salary range for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. The compensation listed reflects only base salary and does not include commissions or longer-term incentives.

What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum 3 years of technical or sales experience in the elevator industry or related field
  • Prior project management experience preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Solid problem-solving skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in building and managing client relationships
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience managing timelines, scheduling, and budgets
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office & Excel
