Position: Deputy Director (Shelter and Housing Services)

Overview

Catholic Community Services of King County is committed to providing care and compassionate services to poor and vulnerable King County and Washington State residents with an annual operating budget of over $95 million per year. We provide a variety of services in the community including basic needs and housing stability services, transitional housing, emergency shelter, enhanced shelters, permanent housing, rapid re-housing, chemical dependency, counseling services, elderly services, behavioral health services, veteran’s services, legal services, immigration and refugees’ services, kinship services, youth tutoring services, workforce development services and pregnancy and parenting services.

Each year over 15,000 community members receive services from this region of CCS.

This senior management position works closely with the Senior Director and Service Directors to provide oversight, strategic direction, and operational leadership across a diverse Division of Shelter and Housing Services. The role is responsible for ensuring effective delivery, integration, and continuous improvement of services that promote stability, well‑being, and equitable access to resources. The position oversees a wide range of service areas, including supportive housing programs, shelters for adults and families, and day centers.

With oversight for an annual budget exceeding $38 million, this role plays a critical part in ensuring organizational effectiveness, fiscal accountability, and program impact. This leader provides comprehensive operational support to Service Directors across multiple program locations, ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality services, sound financial management, and strong community partnerships. The role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands‑on leadership to align programs with organizational goals, enhance service quality, and respond effectively to evolving community needs.

This position offers a compensation range of $145,000 – $165,000 per year (DOE)

Full‑time, 40‑hour position includes a competitive benefits package:

Responsibilities Administrative Oversight and Organizational Support

In coordination with the Senior Director, provides oversight of administrative functions to ensure high‑quality operations, effective service delivery, and continuous improvement in programming and client experience. Ensures alignment with organizational priorities, including equity, inclusion, and trauma‑informed care.

  • Fosters a productive, inclusive, and supportive work environment grounded in equity and trauma‑informed practices, where staff are treated with fairness and respect and are equipped to deliver high‑quality, compassionate services;
  • Ensures effective and responsive information systems and infrastructure that support program operations, data‑informed decision‑making, and equitable and accessible client services;
  • Supports the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising strategies that advance equity, expand access to services, and strengthen innovative, client‑centered programs;
