The Adult Services Division (ASD) is seeking a qualified internal candidate for a Special Duty Assignment (SDA) to establish and support a new Provider Supports Team within the Community Investments and Provider Supports (CIPS) section.

The Provider Supports Team will serve as ASD's centralized resource for provider capacity building, technical assistance coordination, language access administration, provider learning and development, and provider readiness initiatives for the division. The team will play a key role in strengthening the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) provider network and advancing equitable access to County funding opportunities.

The Provider Supports Team Lead provides strategic leadership for ASD's Provider Supports Team and reports directly to the Chief of Community Investments and Provider Supports.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing provider support strategies that strengthen organizational capacity, improve provider readiness, increase equitable access to County funding opportunities, and enhance long-term sustainability of the regional human services network.

The Lead provides day-to-day leadership and coordinates the work of Provider Supports Specialists while serving as the primary liaison between providers, procurement, contracting, fiscal staff, policy staff, executive leadership, and external partners.

The position oversees existing VSHSL Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (TACB) and Language Access programs while leading development of new provider support initiatives, including the VSHSL Provider Academy Pilot Program.

This position is open only to current Adult Services Division (ASD) Career Service employees who meet the minimum qualifications. Interviews for this selection process will take place on or around 8/28/2026.

This is a Special Duty Assignment (SDA) position anticipated to end 24 months from the start date, but subject to change dependent on operational need. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for overtime. Typical hours are Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm. This position is represented by Protec

This position has been designated Non-Mission Critical. Unless otherwise directed by the County Executive, department director, or agency head, all employees, regardless of designation, are expected to report to work or request leave during an emergency or inclement weather. DCHS works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is the Chinook Building at 401 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104.

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
