UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a Portfolio Manager (Fred Hutch / UW Medicine).

• 100% FTE – 40 hours per week
• Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

• HYBRID work opportunity
  - Position is primarily remote, but will require onsite work at Fred Hutch Cancer Center for projects

Portfolio Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver programs and projects that span Fred Hutch and UW Medicine ITS business units. The Portfolio Manager works closely with senior leadership, project team managers and consultants, user representatives, other ITS teams, and UW Medicine faculty and staff to:

• Initiate projects
• Ensure project deliverables and outcomes
• Analyze business processes and data
• Manager portfolio communications, including dashboards and reports
• Manage resources, schedules, scope, financials, and approach throughout the full project life cycle
• Identify and resolve issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
• Plan and direct the configuration and functional testing
• Represent the service-line leaders in meetings, communications, and decision-making around portfolio execution
• Provide tactical guidance to service-line leaders based on portfolio execution
• Facilitate user requirements and project implementation
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and other project management documents
• Support the operational departments to improve associated systems

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-oriented profession, a technology field, a business-related field, or other discipline that demonstrates analytical or communications abilities, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience
• 8+ years of overall experience to include the below:
• 8+ years of experience leading, managing, and coaching technology and/or business professionals in progressively more complicated vendor-packaged system deployment and/or process improvement projects. Progressive, relevant experience related to IT portfolio, program, and project management. This must include demonstrated experience serving a single service-line
• Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external constituents, while holding all teams accountable for performance
• Demonstrated leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills including the ability to lead multiple business and technology organizations/business units
• Experience maintaining relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives
• Demonstrated experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex project environment within a cross-functional matrix environment. Experience gaining buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders and peers
• Proven ability to make independent administrative/procedural decisions and provide guidance and leadership to staff
• Demonstrated experience managing project work and/or work of others within an established standard project lifecycle framework and cognizant of budgetary and resource constraints
