As the Director, Merchandising & Commercial Strategy for the Stanley 1913 brand, you will lead the development of merchandising and commercial strategies for the North American region. These strategies will accelerate growth, strengthen market leadership, and improve the consumer experience across all channels. You will be responsible for translating enterprise and brand priorities into actionable marketplace strategies that drive revenue, profitability, market share, and long-term business health in our Beverageware categories.
Working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, Planning, Finance, Analytics, Operations, and Leadership, you will define strategic direction for the marketplace, influence global product and commercial decisions, and ensure the successful delivery of consumer led assortments and commercial initiatives. This role requires a proven leader who can balance long-term goal setting with business performance, while building organizational capabilities and driving alignment across sophisticated partner groups.
WhatYou'll Do Strategic Leadership
- Lead merchandising and commercial strategy across beverageware categories, channels, and consumer segments in North America.
- Develop long-term category and marketplace strategies that drive growth, strengthen brand performance, and meet evolving consumer needs.
- Identify market opportunities, competitive trends, and strategic growth areas to inform business decisions.
- Own portfolio performance, driving revenue, profitability, market share, and inventory optimization.
- Lead forecasting, long-range planning, and investment decisions to support sustainable growth.
- Translate business insights into actionable strategies and growth plans.
- Lead regional assortment, pricing, segmentation, and distribution strategies aligned to consumer and channel needs.
- Optimize product lifecycle management, franchise governance, assortment productivity, and SKU efficiency.
- Prioritize innovation and growth initiatives that enhance marketplace performance.
- Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Planning, and Operations to drive commercial success.
- Align partners on key business decisions and represent North American priorities with global teams.
- Foster collaboration to improve execution, agility, and marketplace responsiveness.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team.
- Coach and mentor talent while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and consumer focus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, commercial strategy, category management, or related business leadership roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven success leading marketplace, merchandising, or commercial strategies within a consumer products, retail, or lifestyle brand environment.
- Proven track record to develop and implement long-range business strategies while delivering near term commercial results.
- Strong understanding of assortment planning, marketplace segmentation, pricing strategy, franchise management, and product lifecycle management.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities with experience translating complex data into strategic business recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignment across highly matrixed organizations.
- Strong financial savvy with experience handling budgets, forecasts, and business performance metrics.
- Outstanding communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
- Shown people leadership experience, including coaching, talent development, and organizational capability building.
- Ability to balance critical thinking with operational execution in a fast-paced, developing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as the need arises.
