Saxon Aerospace is seeking highly experienced Composite Technicians to support advanced aerospace composite manufacturing and assembly operations. We are looking to hire individuals with deep, hands-on experience across complete composite manufacturing processes, with a strong preference for UAV programs.
This role is ideal for technicians who can step in, review engineering instructions, understand the methodology and intent, and execute with minimal ramp-up.
Responsibilities- Prepare composite components for assembly
- Manufacture composite parts using layup and bladder molding processes
- Perform composite repairs and inspections
- Prepare molds, dies, tooling, and shop aids
- Inspect and test composite components for defects
- Maintain and troubleshoot composite manufacturing equipment
- Accurately record production and assembly activities
- Assist in the development and improvement of composite manufacturing processes and procedures
The ideal candidate will have experience beyond single-stage manufacturing and demonstrate strong understanding of end-to-end composite build processes.
- Successful candidates will be able to:
Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions and fully understand the manufacturing approach and reasoning - Look at a composite part and quickly understand how it was manufactured, including tooling, layup strategy, and process sequence
- Discuss ideas for reproducing or improving composite parts and processes
- Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams
Candidates whose experience is limited to only one phase of composite manufacturing may not be the right fit for this role.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of aerospace composite manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, shop aids, and work instructions
- Experience using hand and power tools
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Indoor manufacturing environment
- Exposure to noise, equipment, and composite materials
- PPE provided
