AboutThe Role
The Digital Bindery Operator is responsible for operating finishing equipment to complete jobs coming off our digital printers. This includes paper cutters, folding machines, perfect binders, and stitchers. The ideal candidate will have prior bindery experience, a solid understanding of print production, and a commitment to producing high-quality work efficiently. - Operate bindery machine and equipment with consideration for timeliness, quality, and client needs.
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, and measure workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation.
- Set stop or guide to specific length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
- Position workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
- Detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, remove defective products from work pieces, and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager.
- Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
- Ensure that assembly practices comply with established policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot assembly problems and report findings to the department manager.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- At least one (1) year of experience with bindery equipment.
- Knowledge of print production and bindery/finishing processes.
- May be required to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and all day.
- May be required to frequently lift up to 30 lbs.

- Flexibility in work hours may be required.
This position predominantly works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
