Job Summary

The Shift Lead assists in coordinating and monitoring activities of workers engaged in the production process by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions
  • Supervises employees throughout the production areas and monitors their activities.
  • Coordinates daily activities of the production group with all departments to meet production and sanitation goals.
  • Monitors and tracks performance of assigned lines and reports to supervision, maintenance and QA any issues.
  • Performs daily shift review meetings at the end of each shift with the oncoming shift to communicate performance and issues throughout the shift.
  • Assists in training hourly employees.
  • Assures compliance with all safety and good manufacturing practices.
  • Communicates with Supervisors and other Lead personnel any problems or concerns that surface during shift.
  • Supports special projects as needed.
  • Performs attendance at beginning of shift and monitors employees for GMP compliance.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience managing the production lines.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience, preferably in food production.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb ladders to elevated platforms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee moves objects regularly up to 5 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 30 pounds.

This role is non-exempt at $25.62 to $31.97 per hour.
