Position Overview
This is a full-time, on-site, Monday-Friday position. We are seeking a dependable, responsible, and positive person to join our team of dedicated and detail-oriented sign makers. You are a collaborative team player who brings expertise in large-format print production, fabrication, and all that goes with it. From file setup through printing, finishing, and installation. You’re adaptable to ever-changing scenarios, switching gears from one project to another at a moment’s notice while still maintaining your eye for detail, color, and quality control.
You are a problem solver who isn’t averse to a challenge and can hit deadlines on a repeatable basis. You have experience working for a sign shop or company in large-format graphics production.
- Read and follow work orders accurately
- Reference drawing packages
- Maintain an organized and clean production area
- Perform routine machine cleaning and maintenance
- Pre-production file setup from various source files
- Utilize RIP software for printer file prep and paneling
- Operate large-format printers, laminators, and vinyl cutters
- Moving and loading rolls of media (banner, vinyl, laminates, paper)
- Color matching (Pantone, Paints, Textiles)
- Quality control (before, during, and after print runs)
- Prepare graphics and vinyl:
Trim, weed, mask, and organize graphics for installation, delivery or pickup - Assist with material receiving, inventory, QC, and general shop tasks
- Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- 3-5 years in a sign shop, print shop, or in graphics production
- Large-format printers such as Roland, HP, Canon, and Epson.
- Vinyl cutters such as Graphtec or Summa
- Laminating and mounting/applying graphics
- Software:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Corel
DRAW, Composer, and Onyx RIP software - Understands scales
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a production/shop environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift rolls of media - Typical 48" or 54" x 50
- Pay depends on experience
