11-Month W2 Contract | Intent to Convert Based on Performance

Seattle, WA 98108 (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $30-$40/hour DOE + OT Eligible
Russell Tobin is supporting hiring for a leading global technology and manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing and prototyping environment. This role supports the production and assembly of high-quality components created through advanced manufacturing processes including 3D printing, CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, assembly, automotive mechanic, or technical production experience who enjoy working with precision tools, engineering drawings, and complex assemblies.
What You’ll Do- Assemble manufactured components into finished products using engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures
- Perform mechanical assembly including fastening, fitting, bonding, and alignment of parts
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures
- Install hardware including screws, bolts, rivets, washers, and fasteners
- Apply adhesives, sealants, and thread-locking compounds as specified
- Support both sub-assembly and final assembly operations
- Verify fit, alignment, and functionality during assembly
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify and report defects or quality concerns
- Perform functional testing on assembled products
- Maintain accurate assembly documentation and records
- Support first article inspections for new assemblies
- Retrieve and organize materials and components for assembly work
- Maintain clean and organized workstations following 5S standards
- Properly store and handle components to prevent damage
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe manufacturing environment
- Report hazards or safety concerns promptly
- Support ISO-compliant manufacturing documentation processes
- Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams on assembly priorities
- Communicate assembly issues and process improvements
- Support shipping and packaging preparation for completed products
- Provide feedback on design-for-assembly improvements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of mechanical assembly experience or related technical training
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Basic computer skills for documentation and recordkeeping
- 2+ years of manufacturing or production assembly experience
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly
- Experience with precision assembly and tight tolerance work
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience using torque wrenches and precision measurement tools
- Knowledge of adhesive bonding and fastening techniques
- Experience in contract manufacturing or high-mix production environments
- Forklift certification
