At Gravitics, we’re not exploring space—we’re rebuilding it. We’re creating the infrastructure for a thriving space economy, enabling humanity to flourish beyond Earth. Our vision is bold, and we design and manufacture large-scale orbital structures for commercial operations and mission‑critical defense and government missions.

Our systems are built to scale and to last, bridging commercial innovation with mission‑critical performance. If you’re ready to lay the foundations for a new era in space, embrace a culture of relentless learning and innovation, and contribute to a future where humanity’s reach extends farther, Gravitics is the place for you. Let’s build the future together.

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled welder to help build the primary structure for spaceflight systems. You’ll be hands‑on with precision aluminum welding, forming, fitting, and robotic/automated welding systems. In this role you’ll fabricate mission‑critical structures, inspect weld quality, support engineering with problem‑solving, and ensure every weld meets the highest standards.

The work includes operating mechanized welding systems, fabricating tooling, handling raw materials, and supporting shop operations in a fast‑paced environment where quality and safety are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Weld primary structure for human‑rated space hardware
  • Quickly fabricate and weld tooling to support production
  • Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance and weld conformance
  • Fit, form, clean parts, and set up welding equipment for production
  • Perform Class A quality aluminum welds
  • Diagnose weld defects and recommend corrective actions and process improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering on tooling improvements and solve build issues
  • Handle raw materials and finished weldments
  • Use fabrication equipment such as vertical bandsaws, sanding tools, and jig tables
  • Work with x‑ray technicians and support other NDT processes
  • Read engineering blueprints and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
About You

You’re a highly skilled welder who takes pride in high quality work. You enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment, solving fabrication challenges, and collaborating with engineering. You’re self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed to producing flight‑quality work every time. You may have worked in aerospace before or in an environment where your welds are volumetrically inspected.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Class A TIG welding experience (or equivalent from other industry)
  • 5+ years of fabrication and forming experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
  • Familiarity with NDT processes such as X‑ray and other inspection techniques
  • Automated or robotic welding experience
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical milestones
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of Class A D17.1 aerospace welding experience
  • Strong self‑starter comfortable in a fast‑paced fabrication environment
  • Ability to rapidly diagnose weld issues and optimize processes
  • Excellent attention to detail, craftsmanship, and quality focus
  • Automated or robotic welding experience
