The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of various PIT (Power Industrial Trucks) equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to transfer and load donated goods in support of Evergreen Goodwill’s business operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspection of equipment to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, front‑end loader, and other equipment safely and efficiently following proper safety standards.
- Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material and maintain equipment condition to minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed.
- Report necessary repairs to supervisor.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and report potential hazards or accidents.
- Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience- Minimum 1 year of prior equipment operation experience.
- Minimum 1 year working in a warehouse environment; basic familiarity with warehouse procedures and operations.
- Prior experience working at OSHA‑regulated sites.
- Good time‑management and follow‑through skills; ability to adhere to work schedule and address challenges as they arise.
- Goodwill forklift certification required (must meet eligibility requirements).
The job requires lifting and carrying up to 40–50 pounds, standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, climbing ladders, and traveling across varied surfaces. The employee must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including with those who have limited English skills, and maintain reliable attendance.
