You will be a CAD specialist passionate about solving technical problems and delivering high‑quality products to market.

We’re a Seattle‑based company dedicated to creating durable, best‑in‑market purifiers for extreme outdoor conditions. You will join a small, talented team that moves products from proof‑of‑concept to market release. You’ll research materials, design prototypes, collaborate with manufacturing, and communicate progress across the organization.

Hybrid position – 2‑3 days per week in our Seattle office. Travel 4‑6 weeks per year, often abroad and in the field.

Application Process
  • Complete a written interview
  • Submit cover letter, resume, and portfolio
The Work
  • Use CAD, 3D printing, and sketching to create prototypes and tools. Only highly proficient CAD users should apply.
  • Identify and research consumer pain points to evaluate technology and material feasibility.
  • Source materials and work with third‑party factories across a diverse supply chain.
  • Build minimum‑viable prototypes using 3D printing, hand tools, and affordable materials.
  • Test prototypes in-house and via external labs, creating protocols to meet GRAYL’s high standards.
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders with clear, enthusiastic presentations.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, content strategists, user researchers, and designers.
  • Support GRAYL’s culture: work hard, play outdoors, and love nature.
  • Partner with industrial design to refine form while maintaining engineering requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Travel regularly – 5‑7 international and domestic trips per year.
  • Live in or near Seattle; flexible 2‑3 day per week office schedule.
Who You Are
  • Empathetic to users, constantly advocating for their experience.
  • Technical problem‑solver with mechanical aptitude and strong craft skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, understanding how small nuances affect seamless design.
  • Collaborative, listening to diverse perspectives and following through on commitments.
  • Adaptable, thriving in ambiguity and rapid iteration.
  • A natural maker with insatiable curiosity.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, driving projects for both company and customer benefit.
Hard Skills
  • Proficiency in CAD (OnShape, Solid Works). Must be capable of efficient, creative design.
  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques: injection, blow, overmolding, metal forming, casting, sonic welding, and basic electronics.
