Join us in supporting a Seattle WA Shipyard with your experience and expertise!
This role requires proactive and detail-oriented professionals to engage in Sheet Metal Mechanics tasks, ensuring excellence in every aspect of the job.
Contract Duration:
Starts July 6th and goes for 6-12 months.
Compensation: $30.00 - $34.00/hr DOE and $178 per diem, for days worked.
Key Requirements:- Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with proof (Original or Certified Birth Certificate with Enhanced Driver License, Real U.S Passport). Must be able to obtain a "DBIDS" Badge. - Certifications:
Maritime OSHA 10 certification required. - Experience:
Previous shipyard experience required.
Working Hours:
50-60 hours per week.
- Diverse shifts include 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts.
- Monday through Friday with overtime, and weekends as requested by the client.
Venture Dynamics is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team within the marine industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Sheet Metal and Mechanical tasks according to NAVSEA standards.
- Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal parts for the repair and modernization of US Navy vessels.
- Utilize equipment including hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls and routers to cut, bend, lock and form, or straighten materials.
- Trim, file, grind, debar, buff and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
- Weld, solder, bolt, rivet, screw, clip, caulk or bond component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools and equipment.
- Inspect assembly and install for conformance to specification.
- May install air-conditioning and heating, ventilation ducting, cabinets, shelves and other equipment onboard ships.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a shipyard environment.
- Must understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
- Must be capable of using hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and military specifications.
- Must be flexible to working all shifts.
- Must have own transportation.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Participate in system upgrades and routine maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Perform other related tasks, as assigned.
