Position Summary

The Production Manager owns the daily operations of production departments and uses continuous improvement tools to improve performance and achieve targets. This person handles the Shop Floor Management structure of each department and leads using Masco’s Talent Principles and Enterprise Leadership Profile. The position must have the ability to make critical decisions in an ever-changing manufacturing environment while having a bias for action.

This role’s focus is on the long‑term business strategy in order to improve the performance of production operations. It is meaningful to stay current with significant changes to business strategy and production levels. The position reports to the Plant Manager and has responsibility for Group Leaders, Team Leaders and hourly employees. A close working relationship with hourly employees will develop trust and drive improvements.

Principal

Functional Responsibilities
  • Strive to continuously improve and sustain safety and quality standards/expectations
  • Develop and foster an environment and culture that reflects the vision and values of Brasscraft
  • Apply concepts of Masco Operating System and Lean Manufacturing principles to production operations
  • Lead operations and drive support from Engineering, Planning, CI and Quality to achieve plant KPI targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People
  • Drive improvements using problem-solving methodologies and facilitate continuous improvement events
  • Coach individuals and teams to develop people skills and improve performance with a servant leadership mindset
  • Use internal/external relationships and resources to get better outcomes; actively remove barriers to transparent collaboration; accelerate our progress by sharing standard methodologies and learnings
  • Oversee operating budget, production strategic initiatives and support CAPEX spend to plan and project status to plan
  • Monitor labor efficiency, material variance, scrap, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness
  • Ensure TCP cost savings initiatives are identified and implemented to achieve plant performance
  • Determine current skill set gaps to properly support the manufacturing organization and create/deploy development plans to close gaps
  • Support OEE improvement initiatives to improve overall plant performance
  • The ability to travel up to 5%
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or Operations Management and 5+ years in a similar role; or a minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing leadership role
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting production in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in People Management and Development
  • Previous experience working with ISO quality management systems
  • Familiar with Lean Six Sigma principles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience leading at the departmental level in a fast paced environment
