AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that enable customers to have continual access to the cloud. The team collaborates with software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver safe, secure, and highly available capacity at the lowest cost.
Key Job Responsibilities- Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs across the Americas within schedule and cost constraints while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Influence internal stakeholders, internal customers (operations), and external consultants to address program‑wide design changes.
- Manage escalations from the design team and collaborate with procurement, construction, and external consultants.
- Communicate effectively with AWS Leadership and external project partners, including the creation, tracking, and reporting of metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify innovative solutions before and during construction to reduce change orders without impacting quality or reliability.
- Drive speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework loops, automating manual work, and standardizing processes.
- Create global best‑practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the organization.
- Motivate team members to achieve impeccable quality in a growth‑driven, deadline‑heavy environment.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction reviews, and interfacing with design consultants (anticipated travel not to exceed 25%; international travel may be required).
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in project management or management consulting, handling multiple ongoing projects.
- Experience in life‑cycle design projects from strategy through execution.
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.

Salary for this position ranges from 136,600 to 184,800 USD annually in Herndon, VA and Seattle, WA. Your compensation will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) and will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
