Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician performs hands-on drone aircraft assembly and basic testing, using hand tools and computer-based work instructions to build, integrate, and verify the functionality of advanced drone systems. This role supports day-to-day production activities, ensures correct parts and sequences are used, and contributes to continuous improvement of assembly and test processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the drone vehicle assembly process using hand tools to install mechanical parts and wiring while following detailed work instructions.
• Read and follow written work instructions and build documentation to ensure accurate and consistent assembly.
• Interact with computer-based factory build sequence and part tracking systems to confirm correct parts are used, required sequences are followed, and complete vehicle genealogy is documented.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical integration of drones, including fastening, attaching, bonding, and fit-and-finish tasks.
• Execute various product test scripts to verify assembled functionality and confirm final product compliance with specifications.
• Set up and perform vehicle testing as needed to ensure product functionality and conformity to requirements.
• Support day-to-day activities related to assigned drone assembly processes and production lines.
• Work closely with production and operations teams to help execute production readiness and testing responsibilities.
• Use hand torque drivers, screwdrivers, and other hand tools to perform riveting, torquing, and other assembly operations safely and accurately.
• Identify and recommend assembly and process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency.
• Maintain attention to detail throughout the build and test process while staying focused on overall production goals.
• Document work performed, test results, and any issues encountered using computer systems and standard reporting tools.

Essential Skills

• Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, hand torque drivers, and similar equipment for fastening and assembly.
• Proficiency in specific fastening, attaching, bonding, and fit-and-finish techniques.
• Basic electronic testing experience to verify functionality of assembled products.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and build documentation.
• Comfort interacting with computer systems to follow build sequences, track parts, and enter build details.
• Experience with riveting operations, including installing rivets and operating riveting tools.
• Experience with torquing operations and proper use of torque tools.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to maintain productivity and focus on overall tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Aerospace assembly experience, including work on aircraft or aerospace components.
• Manual assembly experience in consumer electronics or similar high-precision products.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical integration of drones or comparable systems.
• Two or more years of relevant assembly experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with production and operations teams.
• Willingness to support process improvements and adopt new assembly and test methods.

Work Environment

This position is based in a modern manufacturing facility in Seattle focused on drone production. The role follows a daytime schedule of approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is performed on the production floor using standard hand tools, torque drivers, riveting tools,…
