Overview
Power Plant Operator A – Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Join the manufacturing team in Seattle, Auburn, Puyallop, Renton, Kent, Fredrick son, Washington. The role is vital for safely operating and maintaining power generation systems, monitoring equipment, performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Operate boilers, engines and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Read gauges, meters, and charts to track boiler operations.
- Monitor boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels.
- Activate valves to adjust water, air, and fuel in boilers.
- Fire coal furnaces or feed boilers using gas or oil pumps.
- Inspect and maintain equipment for efficient operation.
- Check safety devices and perform environmental checks routinely.
- Record data and maintain logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activity.
Perform physical tasks including lifting weights ranging from 10–35 pounds, reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. Work in environments with contact with metals, solvents, coolants, moving parts, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards. Operate in varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions. Personal safety gear is required.
Qualifications- City of Seattle Steam Engineer's License Grade 2.
- 3+ years of boiler operation and maintenance experience.
- Capability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8‑hour shift.
- Must meet Export Control compliance requirements; US Person required.
- 100% onsite work; ability to work at all shifts.
- Ability to stand, twist, bend, kneel, and occasionally crawl for 8 hours.
- Comfortable working in noisy environments while completing tasks.
