This role is an on-site position and requires regular attendance at the facility and is responsible for preparing, assembling, and packaging ready to eat items. Working in a high pace environment while maintaining high standards for quality, sanitation and food safety. Working in a team base department.
Schedule: 4:00am-12:30pm weekend availability is required.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Accurately assemble salad kits, salsa’s and fresh-cut produce items following production specification
- Inspect and ensure quality of food products (e.g. freshness, color, shapes, temperature and proper size specification and compliance with company standards)
- Operate line equipment safely (e.g., scales, conveyors, labelers, thermometers, can openers and heat seal and any other equipment as trained)
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation following food safety and sanitation procedure (GMPS)
- Communicate product quality issues such as spoilage, moisture, or foreign materials to lead or QA. If you are not sure, always ask questions
- Follow proper rotation to ensure older product is used first. Everything must be labeled
- Assist in prepping, decanting (product and packaging), sorting, or reworking products as needed
- Able to accurately count and weight ingredients and compare them to recipe, notifying supervisor of any discrepancies
- Fast pace and safe production runs to complete orders in a timely manner for trucks to be out on schedule
- Report any suspicious activity or broken equipment that is not safe to use
- Be able to run orders by allergen control so we don’t contaminate products and store them properly
- Follow instructions given and ask questions if needed
- Return any equipment that you signed off to at the end of your shift
- Be able to work in a moving conveyor and keep up with your assign spot to maintain production flow
- Fill in any paperwork needed for production
- Assist in training new associates
- Adapt to new changes and any additional task, jobs and duties assigned
- Help in other areas when needed (cross train in different areas of production)
- Be able to memorize weights, production runs, allergens, and names of finished items
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Multitask and be able to work independently on assigned task
- Ability to stand for extensive period
- Ability to follow written and verbal instruction in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of vegetable and produce
- Prior production, warehouse, or food processing experience
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work as part of team
- Ability to fill out paperwork
- Knowledge of scales.
- Great Communication
- Working in wet and cold conditions
