Thermaline is a growing stainless steel fabrication shop building high-quality heat exchangers and sanitary components for the food, beverage, bio/pharmaceutical, and other industries. We take pride in our craftsmanship, our people, and our commitment to continuous improvement.

The CNC Operator supports our machining team by setting up, running, and monitoring CNC equipment used to produce precision stainless steel components for our heat exchangers and sanitary parts. This role does not require expert-level CNC experience - we are looking for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to build real machining skills.

We are open to candidates at all experience levels. If you are new to CNC machining and looking for a place to build your skills, we will train you. If you already have machining experience and are looking for the next step, there is room to grow into more advanced programming and setup work here.

• Load material and set up parts for CNC machining operations.
• Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other equipment according to standard work instructions.
• Monitor running machines and make basic adjustments to maintain quality and consistency.
• Perform in-process quality checks using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Deburr, clean, and prep finished parts to meet quality standards.
• Assist with tool changes, basic tooling setup, and routine machine maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and part specifications.
• Track parts and maintain accurate production and traceability documentation.
• Keep work area organized, clean, and safe.
• Follow safety procedures and direction from team leads and senior machinists.

• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn CNC machining.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and standing on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Basic math skills and comfort working with precision measurements.
• Reliable, positive, and bring a good attitude.
• No prior CNC experience required (but helpful) - we'll train the right person.
• Experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or hands-on mechanical environment is a plus.
• Experience reading blueprints or technical drawings is a plus.
• Familiarity with CNC programming, G-code, or CAD/CAM software is a plus but not required.

Candidates with prior CNC machining experience who are ready to take on more advanced work are encouraged to apply. In addition to the responsibilities above, an Advanced Machinist would take on:

• Program and edit CNC operations using G-code or CAD/CAM software.
• Set up more complex jobs and select appropriate tooling and speeds/feeds.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and dial in first-article parts.
• Mentor and train newer operators on machine operation and quality checks.
• Work directly with engineering and quality to resolve part non-conformances.

Experienced-level candidates may be considered above the posted pay range depending on experience.
