Aircraft Painter

This role is for an experienced aircraft painter who inspects parts, prepares surfaces, mixes coatings, and applies primers and topcoats in accordance with technical specifications. You consistently follow safety protocols, manage your time effectively, and collaborate well with a team to deliver high-quality finishes on a variety of aircraft components.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect aircraft parts and determine the correct paint process based on technical specifications and material type.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including minor sanding and other prep work to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
  • Mix and measure primers, epoxies, and topcoats accurately according to manufacturer guidelines and job requirements.
  • Apply primers, epoxies, and topcoats using industrial painting methods and HVLP spray guns on various metals and surfaces.
  • Perform industrial and aerospace painting tasks with a focus on consistent, high-quality top coats and finishes.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respirators.
  • Maintain paint booths, including changing and cleaning booth filters and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, complete tasks on time, and support team goals and production schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work, resolve issues, and maintain smooth workflow.
  • Monitor work area for fumes and other hazards, and take appropriate actions to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft painting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to specifications.
  • Solid safety awareness and commitment to following all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in paint preparation, including surface prep and minor sanding.
  • Experience mixing and measuring industrial paints, primers, epoxies, and topcoats.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial painting processes and spray application techniques.
  • Skill in using HVLP spray guns and other industrial painting equipment.
  • Experience painting aerospace components and various metals and surfaces.
  • Ability to produce consistent, high-quality top coats on aircraft and related parts.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
