This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be involved in the fabrication and assembly of flight hardware and the application of coatings for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of process and design engineers to characterize, improve, and document manufacturing processes and the resulting hardware quality. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply coatings to parts (including touch-up)
  • Maintain the coating booth operations – ensures desired coating levels, performs product changeovers, and does routine maintenance
  • Operate an automated grit blaster.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains all equipment, including sprayers, robotic spray guns and pumps, etc.
  • Performs complex crane lifts.
  • Fabricate flight parts and make adjustments to machine to achieve blue print requirements
  • Performs assembly of precision parts per defined work instructions
  • Performs and/or schedules maintenance/repair of the spray booth to ensure proper operation when required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Provide manufacturing feedback to design engineers
  • Provide process improvement feedback to process engineers
  • Safely work within an industrial environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of prior work experience in related field
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with paint or coatings
  • Strong written and verbal communication to include, spelling, reading and math skills
  • Experience with high attention to detail applications
  • Ability to use basic precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Experience operating production machinery
  • Self-Motivated with the ability to work within a team environment or independently as required
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work weekends (Friday - Sunday, 12 hour shifts)
Desired:
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace or related fields.
  • Experience in high detail paint application
  • Crane operator/ lift coordinator experience

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87
