EXPERIENCE:

$82,000 - $110,000

Must Haves:
  • 5+ years of Mastercam programming experience
  • Experience programming mills, lathes, and 5-axis CNC machines
  • Strong understanding of tooling, machining methods, speeds, and feeds
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience creating CNC programs from scratch
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience on the shop floor
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Pluses:
  • Composite machining/programming experience
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • Associate degree or higher in a manufacturing-related field
  • Ability to read and write G-Code/M-Code
  • Experience reviewing CMM reports and inspection data
Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a CNC Programmer to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer supporting critical hypersonic and missile defense programs. This individual will be responsible for developing CNC programs using Mastercam, supporting machining operations from concept through production, and working closely with machinists on the shop floor to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded programmer with experience across mills, lathes, and 5-axis machining environments who enjoys working collaboratively with machinists and engineering teams to deliver high-quality precision components.

Some of your responsibilities would include:

  • Program and optimize CNC machining operations using Mastercam
  • Develop machining strategies for mill, lathe, and 5-axis equipment
  • Select tooling, work-holding, speeds, and feeds for new parts
  • Create setup sheets and manufacturing documentation
  • Support first-run prove-outs and production troubleshooting
  • Revise existing programs to improve efficiency and quality
  • Work closely with machinists, engineering, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
  • Support production of precision aerospace and defense components
