Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring an experienced Principal Account-Based Marketing (ABM) Manager to become the first dedicated marketing resource supporting the AWS Global Private Equity (PE) team. This high‑impact role bridges PE firm engagement and portfolio company demand generation, creating bi‑directional value between PE firms and AWS.
In this global position, reporting to the NAMER Marketing team, you will design and execute ABM strategies that accelerate AWS adoption across PE firms and their portfolio companies. You will partner with the PE leadership team, build programs aligned to the PE business strategy, and develop campaigns that target operating partners, investment partners, and portfolio company executives.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute account‑based marketing plans for Tier 0 and Tier 1 PE firms (e.g., Blackstone, KKR, Francisco Partners, Permira, Thoma Bravo) and tailor messaging to operating partners, investment partners, and deal teams based on investment thesis and portfolio focus areas.
- Develop targeted campaigns to boost AWS adoption across PE‑backed portfolio companies, emphasizing greenfield Port Cos, first‑100‑day post‑acquisition engagement, and industry‑specific value creation opportunities across FSI, Healthcare/Life Sciences, ISV, Retail, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, and Education.
- Create marketing motions aligned to the PE BD team’s strategic playbooks, including GenAI/Agentic AI adoption, VMware migration, carve‑outs, database modernization, and Technical Due Diligence support; accelerate portfolio companies from awareness to active adoption.
- Plan and execute high‑touch executive engagement activities such as PE‑specific Executive Briefing Centers, CxO round tables, 1:many Port Co events hosted by PE firms, re:
Invent programming, PE Thrive forums, and Women’s PE Thrive events; build relationships with PE operating and investment partners at the firm level. - Develop PE‑specific content—personalized eBooks, case studies, industry insights, and digital assets for multi‑channel distribution via email, Linked In, content hubs, and event programming—to deliver differentiated messaging to firm‑level investors and Port Co technology leaders.
- Partner closely with PE BD managers, solution architects, specialists, field sales teams, and global marketing counterparts across EMEA and APJC to integrate ABM motions with BD priorities and the four‑tier PE coverage model; align with field marketing, global campaigns, partner marketing, and PEP (PE Partner) program.
- Define and track ABM success metrics—pipeline influenced, PE firm engagement scores, Port Co conversion rates, greenfield‑to‑engaged conversion, PPA influence, and revenue attribution—build reporting dashboards, share results with leadership, and continuously optimize programs based on data and feedback.
- Leverage repeatable ABM frameworks, campaign templates, and engagement playbooks that can scale globally; document best practices and contribute to the AWS ABM Center of Excellence community.
- 9+ years of professional non‑internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing, and scaling cross‑functional marketing programs
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross‑functional teams
- Experience working cross‑functionally with partner teams to drive adoption and usage of brand assets and messaging
- Experience in strategic marketing management and market analysis; demonstrated ability to build and execute a strategy with clear goals and objectives aligned to business and service objectives, and support portfolio objectives
