Account Executives (AEs) are developing communications professionals who operate with growing independence, demonstrating initiative, tactical proficiency, and clear communication with internal teams and clients. AEs support and execute on day‑to‑day client work spanning brand marketing, corporate reputation, crisis and issues, B2B marketing, workplace advisory, health, technology, impact and public affairs, delivering high‑quality work, developing client relationships, and applying critical thinking to connect their work to client goals and broader business outcomes.
In this role, you will primarily support work across [insert industry, client type, or practice focus — e.g., health/pharma, consumer brand, corporate reputation, public affairs, technology, etc.]. Day‑to‑day work may include:
- Supporting product launches for new business and consumer devices and services
- Preparing spokespeople for briefings and events
- Coordinating a reviews program to get products into the hands of journalists
- Keeping the team running smoothly by managing deadlines and delivery of work to clients
- Client Service & Delivery – Manage assigned client deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail; draft client communications and status updates; anticipate team needs and recommend next steps; participate in client calls and meetings, capturing actionable notes and ensuring follow‑up items are completed; coordinate logistics for projects, stakeholder engagements, and events with minimal oversight.
- Media, Stakeholder & Policy Engagement – Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, or policy stakeholders; support outreach and engagement programs across media, digital, and political channels; monitor coverage and policy developments, analyze sentiment, and identify relevant opportunities or risks for clients.
- Content & Storytelling – Develop clear, compelling written materials including press releases, talking points, op‑eds, stakeholder briefings, and social content; tailor content to audience and channel, ensuring consistency with client objectives and Edelman quality standards.
- Research & Insights – Conduct media, policy, and market research to inform recommendations and program development; synthesize findings into actionable insights that support strategic counsel; apply analytical thinking to evaluate campaign performance and identify insights and learnings.
- Cross‑Practice Collaboration – Partner with colleagues across solutions, practices, and/or markets to deliver integrated client work; demonstrate understanding of Edelman’s full suite of capabilities; support internal collaboration by sharing best practices and coordinating efforts across teams.
- Professional Growth – Seek feedback and apply learnings to improve performance and efficiency; demonstrate curiosity about evolving media, policy, and cultural trends; build confidence in contributing ideas and recommendations in team settings.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 1+ years of professional experience in communications, public affairs, or a related discipline.
- Excellent writing, organization, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with media, policy, and social platforms, and comfort using digital tools.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, accountability, and growing confidence in client interactions.
$55,000 – $63,000 per year. The pay position within the salary range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue‑based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
