The Product Marketing & Thought Leadership team is the strategic voice behind how Slack shows up in the market. We shape the company's narrative, define its messaging architecture, and build the content and influence engine that establishes Slack as the definitive leader in the future of work. That means crafting the arguments that move analysts, the content that earns attention, and the category frameworks that make Slack impossible to ignore.
We don't just describe what Slack does – we define what the market believes about where work is going.
Slack is redefining what it means to work – not only with other people, but with AI. As the multiplayer OS for AI, Slack is the only place where human and agent collaboration actually happens are looking for a senior content strategist and writer who can make that story impossible to ignore.
What You'll Do- Define and own Slack's editorial POV – develop the ideas, angles, and arguments that make Slack's content worth reading; go beyond feature explanation to genuine market insight
- Write and produce anchor thought leadership – whitepapers, trend reports, narrative essays, and POV pieces that establish Slack's position at the frontier of how AI and humans work together
- Own content for major product launches – develop the content narrative for Slack's biggest moments; translate product and messaging into content that earns attention and drives pipeline
- Shape Slack's digital content presence – partner with the web PMM on content strategy for ; ensure the site tells a coherent, compelling story at every touchpoint
- Support executive thought leadership – ghostwrite bylines, Linked In content, and long‑form pieces for Slack's senior leadership; capture voice without losing edge
- Set the bar – establish Slack's editorial standards, content quality benchmarks, and voice guidelines for thought leadership; be the internal expert others come to for what great looks like
- 7+ years in content strategy, product marketing, or editorial – with a portfolio that demonstrates both strategic thinking and exceptional writing
- A track record of producing content that did something: shifted perception, drove pipeline, earned press, sparked conversation
Deep comfort at the intersection of product and market narrative – you can read a positioning doc and turn it into content that doesn't sound like one - Experience owning content for major product or GTM moments, not just contributing to them
- Strong editorial judgment – you know the difference between content that informs and content that moves people, and you consistently produce the latter
- Fluency in the AI, enterprise software, or future‑of‑work space is a strong plus; genuine curiosity about where work is heading is a must
The question of where AI actually works – not just exists, but works, for real people, on real teams – is one of the defining business conversations of enterprise AI in this decade. Slack has a clear and compelling answer. This role exists to make sure the world hears it.
BenefitsIn the United States, compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, job level, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. The typical base salary range for this position is $143,400 - $216,900 annually. This range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
