Now Brewing – brand manager I, North American Coffee Partnership (NACP)
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
The Global Channel Development team leads marketing and innovation for Starbucks products delivered in channels outside of our retail coffeehouses, working through thoughtful partnerships with some of the world’s leading food and beverage companies. This is an exciting opportunity to work on our North American Coffee Partnership (NACP), a 30+ year partnership with Pepsi that has brought Frappuccino, Coffee & Protein, Doubleshot Energy and many more products to life in a ready‑to‑drink (RTD) format.
In this role, you will help propel our over $2 B business into the future by bringing the next generation of RTD beverage innovation to life. You will be integral in determining the future of established brands (such as Frappuccino), bringing beloved Starbucks coffeehouse beverages to life in RTD, and developing and launching fully new-to‑the‑world innovations. Working in this well‑established joint venture, you will benefit from Pepsi Co’s deep consumer knowledge and go‑to‑market expertise while leveraging Starbucks brand equity and legacy of coffee and beverage quality.
We are looking for a passionate and consumer‑centric brand manager to join our innovation team and drive the next 3‑5 years of groundbreaking RTD innovation in and beyond the coffee aisle.
Responsibilities- Bring near‑term innovation to market – responsible for all facets of developing and launching new RTD products, including briefing, development and implementation of consumer learning plans, packaging graphics, product formulation and more.
- Support long‑term innovation strategy – support the team in building the 3‑5 year pipeline, leveraging macrotrends and consumer and business insight to craft a strategy that delivers against our strategic priorities today and tomorrow.
- Support marketing and commercial objectives – work closely with marketing and sales teams to craft customer and consumer‑facing messaging and influence the go‑to‑market strategy for our products.
- Leverage leadership and strategic thinking skills – influence and inspire across internal and external cross‑functional partners across Starbucks and Pepsi.
- Progressive experience in product innovation, brand management, marketing, retail, or strategy consulting (5‑7 years).
- Progressive experience leading large cross‑functional projects – especially those with high levels of ambiguity – and gaining alignment with multiple levels of leaders.
- Progressive experience building or collaborating on consumer learning plans.
- Ability to synthesize consumer and sales data to build strong, data‑driven recommendations and strategies.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines, even in the face of shifting scope.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to independently resolve issues or debates across multiple stakeholders (in most situations).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- MBA preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in a role supporting marketing, brand management or product management.
- 3 or more years of experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree or four years of U.S. military experience in a related MOS/C.
