Small Business Education & Communications Specialist to help educate, engage, and empower Latino, immigrant, and underserved entrepreneurs.
This unique role blends community outreach, education, communications, marketing, and content creation, transforming complex business topics into practical, easy-to-understand resources while building awareness of programs and services.
What You’ll Do Small Business Education- Develop educational materials, guides, toolkits, and presentations for small businesses
- Support curriculum development for workshops and training programs
- Translate complex business concepts into accessible educational content
- Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, website, and blog
- Develop graphics, flyers, infographics, and promotional materials
- Produce short-form video and educational content
- Maintain content calendars and communication schedules
- Support storytelling efforts that showcase entrepreneur success stories and community impact
- Build relationships with local organizations and neighborhood businesses
- Conduct outreach to small businesses and community partners
- Help recruit participants for educational programs and business assistance initiatives
- Coordinate educational workshops and webinars
- Support event planning and logistics
- Track attendance, participation, and outcomes
- Gather feedback to continuously improve educational offerings
- Assist with reporting requirements for grants and contracts
- Collect client success stories and testimonials
- Maintain outreach and engagement records
- Collaborate with clients and team members to identify emerging educational needs
You are someone who enjoys connecting with people, creating educational content, and making information accessible. You understand the importance of meeting people where they are and helping them navigate opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Education, Public Administration, Community Development, or a related field; or equivalent work/lived experience
- Minimum two years of experience in communications, marketing, outreach, education, community engagement, workforce development, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities
- Experience creating social media content and marketing materials
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Experience working with small businesses or community-based organizations
- Familiarity with Canva, Cap Cut, and similar content creation tools
- Experience with CRM systems and email marketing platforms
- Knowledge of economic development, workforce development, or small business ecosystems
- Experience facilitating trainings, workshops, or community presentations
