Job Description – The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join their team.
About this OpportunityThe Marketing Manager leads audience-facing marketing execution for the University of Washington School of Nursing, with primary responsibility for digital advertising, social media and content, email marketing and marketing automation, and performance analytics. This role exists to grow the School's public position. Working within the strategy set by the Director of Strategic Marketing Communications & Program Growth, the Marketing Manager plans and runs the campaigns that generate program inquiries, move prospective students toward application, promote the school’s reputation as a leading institution for nursing education and nursing research, and build sustained audience engagement across the School's channels.
The role owns the creative that lives in those channels, including advertising, social, email, and digital, and is accountable for building, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of that work. The Marketing Manager brings independent judgment to the School's approach to reaching its audiences. This is a builder's role during a period of significant institutional opportunity: the School operates at the top tier of nursing education nationally, and the University's entry into the Big Ten expands both the audience and the competitive set.
The position works closely with the Office of Student and Academic Affairs, the Dean's Office, Advancement, and the LT&IT/Mar Comm joint web governance group. The incumbent is expected to identify trends, recognize reputational risk, source opportunities for community engagement and thought leadership, and protect the School of Nursing brand. The Marketing Manger will also work in close daily partnership with the Associate Director on creative direction, brand standards, content planning, and integrated campaign work.
The Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Strategic Marketing Communications & Program Growth during the onboarding period. Supervision transitions to the Associate Director of Brand & Communications upon completion of onboarding, at a point determined by the Director.
