Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, we believe everyone deserves a safe home and the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we provide long‑term housing paired with on‑site services that promote stability, health, and community. Our culture is rooted in dignity, respect, and shared responsibility:
We practice hospitality, communicate with care, and collaborate across differences. We value lived experience, cultural responsiveness, and approaches grounded in harm reduction, trauma‑informed practice, and resident choice. We look for people who are committed to safety, learning, and continuous improvement — and who bring steady, values‑aligned service in moments that are complex or high‑stress.
The Individual Giving Officer plays a key role in advancing Plymouth Housing’s mission by leading the organization’s individual giving program, with a focus on cultivating and growing mid‑level donors (gifts of $5,000+) and supporting the organization’s major gifts efforts. As part of the Resource Development Department, this role helps develop and implement donor engagement strategies that deepen relationships, increase retention and giving levels, and strengthen donor connection to Plymouth’s mission of ending homelessness.

- Identify, research, and cultivate mid‑level donors capable of giving $5,000 or more annually, with an emphasis on growing the giving pipeline.
- Manage all aspects of Plymouth’s mid‑level giving program, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Support major gifts fundraising efforts, including collaboration on donor engagement plans for gifts of $10,000+.
- Develop and execute individualized strategies for existing donors to increase giving levels and deepen long‑term relationships.
- Track donor activity, engagement, and revenue pipeline to ensure progress toward team goals and compliance with donor intent.
- Partner across departments to plan donor tours, educational events, and engagement opportunities that connect supporters to Plymouth’s work.
- Create and implement regular donor touchpoints, communications, and stewardship materials that reflect Plymouth’s voice and values.
- Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify potential new donors and produce research profiles for cultivation and strategy development.
- Collaborate on the Resource Development Department’s annual strategic fundraising plan, goals, and timelines.
- Support data integrity, ensuring accurate donor information and lists for communications, events, and mailings.
- Actively contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and mission‑driven team culture.
- Build trust and work respectfully with people from many backgrounds and lived experiences, contributing to safe, welcoming housing communities.
- Use self‑awareness and humility to communicate effectively across differences, adapt approach, and treat people with fairness and respect.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor messages.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and desktop publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign; experience with Salesforce or similar donor database preferred.
- Have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Demonstrate relationship‑building skills with donors, volunteers, vendors, and colleagues.
