II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESA. Leads and directs the Faith Formation Program for grades K-12.B. Leads and direct Sacramental Preparation programs (Baptism, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Adult Confirmation, OCIA).
C. Recruits, trains, motivates and provides general and specific direction to volunteers involved with faith formation activities and programs.
D. Prepares and teaches classes as needed.
E. Registers couples for pre-marital counseling, schedules pre-nuptial conferences with priest, administers the FOCUS instrument.
F. Administers Archdiocese of Seattle Safe Environment “Circle of Grace” program to children and youth.
G. Ensures all volunteers to the Faith Formation program are compliant with Safe Environment Policy.
III. SECONDARY FUNCTION SA. Maintains inventory of educational supplies and re-orders as appropriate.
B. Performs other duties as assigned, that may include evenings and weekend.$8,100 per annun/approx 20 hours per week Primary:
Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Catholic Church by extending the ministry of the archbishop
Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboratin between lay and ordained MinistersA practicing faithful Catholic and active member of a parish in good standing with the Church
Experience:
3-5 years of experience directing or coordinating faith formation programs in a parish is perferred
Minimum educational qualification: an undergrraduate degree in Religious Education, Pastoral Studies or Education, or equivalent combination of relevant education and educational experience
Other Elements:
Available to work evenings and weekends
Effective verbal and written communications
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and see projects to completion
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Motivated with strong interpersonal skills
Skilled in leading, motivating and collaborating with volunteers, including recruting new volunteers
Ability to adapt to evolving environment and multi-tasking
Technology skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher, Exce, Outlook;
Google Workspace and Social Media platforms
Technical skills needed for multimedia presentations and for producing the necessary printed materials and curriculum support materials required for formation programs.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
