Overview
The American Civil Liberties Union of Washington (ACLU-WA) is seeking a Donor Relations Manager (DRM). Reporting to the Associate Director of Individual Giving, the DRM will build relationships with supporters, expand outreach, and grow philanthropic revenue in support of ACLU’s mission. The DRM will identify major donor prospects and maintain and grow donations from the mid‑level portfolio ($1,000–$10,000 annual gifts) through cultivation opportunities, regular communication, and virtual and in‑person meetings.
Responsibilities- Build and nurture relationships with supporters and major donor prospects.
- Identify and cultivate mid‑level and major donor prospects to deepen philanthropic engagement.
- Create and implement programs to maintain and grow mid‑level donor gifts through targeted communication and events.
- Coordinate virtual and in‑person meetings, small group events, and other engagement activities.
- Collaborate with ACLU National’s solicitation and cultivation teams to complement their activities and provide deeper connections to local work.
- Integrate an understanding of race, class, power, and privilege into all development work, particularly in donor engagement.
- Able to input information into a computer for long periods of time.
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Able to assess information communicated through a computer.
- Able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to periodically work long and extended hours.
- Able to travel locally/regionally/across the state, as needed.
Salary range: $89,474 – $107,166, adjusted for experience. Benefits include three weeks of vacation, thirteen sick days (plus ten additional days in 2023), fifteen holidays, fully paid medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, an employer‑contributed retirement plan, student loan reimbursement, family care and adoption assistance, life insurance, paid office closures, an ORCA transportation pass, and a work phone or stipend. A $100 monthly stipend supports home‑office costs.
