WHO is Sound Generations?

We are a comprehensive non‑profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age on their own terms.

Volunteer Coordinator – Meals on Wheels

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Meals on Wheels team in Seattle, Washington.

What will you do?
  • Recruit, onboard, and train more than 300 volunteers serving at 20 sites across King County.
  • Conduct and screen volunteer background checks.
  • Regularly conduct site visits and build relationships with leaders of partner sites across King County.
  • Coordinate and monitor program activities in relation to established program goals and within established program parameters.
  • Direct the work of others and/or coordinate services of volunteers. Fill in as a Site Coordinator or other volunteer position as needed.
  • Prepare training and promotional materials.
  • Maintain a customer relationship management database with volunteer contacts.
  • Provide information and technical assistance to volunteers, staff, and program participants regarding program content, policies, and activities.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to identify program needs and volunteer eligibility for continued participation.
  • Attend meetings and events as a program representative.
  • Troubleshoot complaints from clients or staff about volunteers.
  • Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and initiatives.
  • Perform the work of lower‑classified positions as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working or volunteering in social and human services or a related field.

Pay Rate: $29.33 per hour.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
