The Annual Gift Officer plays an important role in advancing Food Lifeline's mission to feed people experiencing hunger today while working to end hunger for tomorrow across Western Washington. This position supports the growth and success of Food Lifeline's annual giving, direct mail, sustainer, and mid-level giving programs by building meaningful relationships with donors and delivering exceptional stewardship experiences.

Full‑time, non‑exempt, hybrid role based in Seattle, Washington. The position requires onsite presence at least three days each week and standard hours Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required to support fundraising events, donor meetings, and campaign activities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 annual and mid‑level donors and prospects.
  • Develop and implement donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention strategies that strengthen donor relationships and increase annual giving.
  • Support and grow Food Lifeline's annual giving and sustainer programs through personalized donor engagement.
  • Coordinate annual giving campaigns, including GiveBIG, Giving Tuesday, matching gift campaigns, direct mail, and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Partner with the Annual Giving Manager, Marketing & Communications, and direct mail vendors to coordinate campaign schedules, reporting, and implementation.
  • Create compelling donor communications, stewardship materials, acknowledgments, proposals, and solicitation messages.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, move management activity, and documentation in Raiser's Edge.
  • Analyze fundraising results and donor engagement metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improved performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support donor events, stewardship opportunities, and special fundraising initiatives.
  • Build positive relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, and colleagues while representing Food Lifeline professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with demonstrated success growing annual giving, sustainer, or mid‑level giving.
  • A commitment to Food Lifeline's mission and the ability to represent the organization with professionalism, authenticity, and warmth.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills that foster trust and long‑term donor engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive writing and donor‑centered storytelling.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and project management abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strategic thinking, initiative, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency using CRM systems and fundraising data to guide donor strategy and measure success.
  • A collaborative approach that values teamwork across Development, Marketing & Communications, and other departments.
  • Proven experience managing donor portfolios and cultivating philanthropic support.
  • Strong relationship management and donor stewardship experience.
  • Experience coordinating fundraising campaigns and donor communications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience using fundraising metrics and move management strategies to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using donor database or CRM systems (Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in nonprofit organizations, food banking, or human services is preferred but not required.

Salary Range: $72,000–$90,000 annually.
