OrganizationBread of Life Mission is a non-denominational, Christian social services organization that provides goods and services to the homeless, poor, and needy of Washington State through a Christ‑Centered approach, impacting Seattle one life at a time. All staff work to bring hope, healing, and recovery.
Summary of Position40‑hour week, including one weekend day. Lead, coordinate, and oversee the Men’s Shelter, reflecting the mission’s vision and core values. Support participants, manage front desk and security, administer drug and breathalyzer tests, supervise common areas, maintain accurate records, ensure safety, and uphold house guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities- Communicate a ministry perspective that aligns with a Biblical approach to grace and boundaries.
- Responsible for daily operation of the facility and residential programs, ensuring compliance with all oversight entities.
- Establish effective relationships of trust with residents.
- Understand, articulate, and model a perspective that balances Biblical concepts of grace and justice.
- Supervise Guest Service Coordinators, interns, kitchen staff, and other support staff to ensure excellence.
- Schedule, coach, and evaluate departmental staff.
- Utilize computerized tracking (Mission Tracker) for key operational metrics.
- Maintain all recordkeeping and documentation thoroughly and timely; preserve client confidentiality.
- Participate in open, collaborative communication with other personnel and consult with Leadership as necessary.
- Work in partnership to support the Program Director and Development Director in achieving overall goals.
- Manage procurement of shelter supplies, place orders, and ensure timely delivery while practicing stewardship with the Business Manager.
- Manage kitchen operations to comply with health department and food bank standards; ensure safe food handling and preparation.
- Cooperate with other BOLM programs for coordinated service delivery.
- Maintain the appearance, organization, and client flow in the shelter.
- Lead support groups, Bible studies, and teach Program classes as assigned.
- Provide crisis intervention, de‑escalation, and debriefing in conflict, stress, and trauma situations.
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
- Complete monthly reports and other reporting as directed to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and partners.
- Conduct relevant assessments of shelter guests.
- Model servant leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Able and willing to share the Gospel in word and action.
- Experience working with the homeless population.
- Knowledge and understanding of homelessness, addiction, poverty, mental illness, and trauma‑informed care.
- Organized, patient, and solution‑oriented.
- Maintain a positive, professional, Christ‑like manner with all donors, staff, guests, and volunteers.
- Agree to and work toward achieving the goals and objectives of Bread of Life Mission.
- Complete the Mission’s policies, directives, code of conduct, statement of faith, and mission statement; sign a confidentiality agreement.

- Computer literate – proficient in Word, Excel, internet, and email applications.
