Skate Like a Girl is a federally recognized non‑profit organization that promotes confidence, leadership, and social justice through the vehicle of skateboarding. By centering non‑traditional skateboarders in our programs and events, we seek to create an equitable skateboarding community where everyone can thrive. Currently we have 3 chapters in Seattle, Portland, and the San Francisco Bay Area, and serve an annual 10,000+ individuals each year.

Job title: Development Manager

Reporting to: Executive Director

Wage: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

Hours: Full‑time and non‑exempt. Typical weekly schedule of 9am-5pm, Monday‑Friday, with flex time granted to accommodate events/programs on evenings and weekends. Overtime must be approved unless an emergency arises.

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: Must be based within Portland or Seattle’s geographic area. This hybrid role includes regular local work with some travel for special events. Occasional work may also take place at various program locations.

In Seattle, the Development Manager is expected to work in person at the Skate Like A Girl office with local staff on Tuesdays.

Benefits: 401k retirement matching. Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage with no waiting period paid at 50% by the employer. Minimum 26 days of paid vacation including 10 holidays and a 16‑day paid annual unplug holiday in mid‑September, with additional unlimited additional PTO days (with approval).

Summary: The Development Manager plays a key role in advancing Skate Like a Girl’s mission by managing fundraising efforts, stewarding partnerships, and supporting organization‑wide communication. This position is responsible for managing grants, cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors and sponsors, coordinating the fundraising campaigns, and truly telling the story of our mission through digital communications. An ideal candidate is an organized relationship builder who enjoys implementing strategic plans and day‑to‑day execution.

They are comfortable writing grant proposals, managing multiple competing deadlines, building relationships, and collaborating across departments to elevate
