Employee Giving Program Manager
The King County Employee Giving Program (KCEGP) within the Department of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized professional to serve as the Employee Giving Program Manager (Project/Program Manager III). This role manages a high-visibility, high-impact, county-wide program that connects employees to causes they care about.
The KCEGP mobilizes generosity and community connection across our workforce, raising more than $2 million annually to support nonprofit organizations serving communities across the region and the world. The program operates five lines of business serving our 18,000+ employees across all branches of county government and engaging nonprofits year-round. As one of the largest public-sector workplace giving programs in the nation, the KCEGP is managed entirely in-house—from financial systems and nonprofit engagement to communications, technology, training, and operations.
Reporting to the Employee Social Impact and Well-being Manager, the Employee Giving Program Manager provides expert-level project and program management to plan, deliver, and continuously improve program products, processes, and systems that scale. This multi-faceted role works closely with the small but mighty KCEGP team and committee to engage employees, deliver high impact programming and communications, and serve as a subject matter expert.

Job DutiesApplying equity and social justice principles (ESJ) is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. This role will champion King County's deep commitment to ESJ by exemplifying shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work.
- Plan and execute programming, including the Annual Giving Drive, volunteering, emergency and disaster relief, and events such as our Nonprofit Expos and celebration.
- Develop annual and project work plans, goals, and desired outcomes.
- Manage and deliver the Ambassador Program, our 200+ enterprise employee champion network, including recruitment, development, training, and recognition.
- Recruit and lead Short-Term Temporary Campaign Assistants to provide excellent customer service during the Annual Giving Drive. Coordinate their work and support their development through coaching, training, and mentoring.
- Develop, edit, and produce high-quality effective communication materials and tools; including, communication plans, presentations, web content, emails, cascade messaging, talking points, templates, and other digital or print content; ensure clarity, accessibility, and alignment with goals and brand voice.
- Represent the KCEGP internally and externally by delivering dynamic, clear, and accessible communications across multiple formats including oral and written presentations, meetings, trainings, reports, briefings, and live facilitation tailored to diverse audiences ranging from broad employee groups to elected leadership and nonprofit organizations.
- Evaluate, review, and update KCEGP processes and products with a focus on continuous improvement, accessibility, and equity.
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop and contribute to program and/or policy recommendations and issue papers.
- Support committees and facilitate committee meetings, as needed.
- Identify opportunities to apply equity and social justice principles to enhance training, processes, and the overall employee and nonprofit experience.
- Work on a variety of other projects and assignments in support of KCEGP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of operational or program support experience in employee giving and/or volunteering, nonprofit fundraising, employee engagement, corporate social responsibility, or employee social impact AND
- Two years of experience developing training, coaching or mentoring others, and/or leading teams.

- Experience developing communications plans, working with web-based communications platforms and delivering effective print and digital communications and marketing.
- Demonstrated project, program, and event management expertise, including planning, coordination, communications, and cross functional engagement.
- Strong analytical, organizational, evaluation, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals at all levels both internally and externally.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with multiple internal and external partners to meet shared objectives.
