The Community Programs Coordinators lead and implement Camp Fire Central Puget Sound’s community program and day camp operations, including overseeing program logistics, event coordination, volunteer and seasonal staff management, and day-to-day program execution. Two individuals will be hired into the role, with one hired coordinator starting in fall 2026 and a second coordinator starting in January 2027.

Position Summary

The Community Programs Coordinators are responsible for leadership and implementation of Camp Fire Central Puget Sound’s community program and day camp operations. The position oversees program logistics, event coordination, volunteer management, seasonal staff supervision, administrative systems, and day-to-day program execution.

Working under the supervision of the Community Programs Director, the Community Programs Coordinators ensure high-quality program delivery across school-year and summer programming, including teen programs, community events, outreach initiatives, annual Candy Sale fundraiser, and day camp operations.

Department Overview

Operating as part of a two-person program coordination team with shared responsibilities, the Community Programs Coordinators maintain working knowledge across all program areas to ensure continuity and coverage.

  • Coordination and execution of seasonal programs, including school-year Community Programs, Teen Leadership Programs, and summer Day Camp Programs.
  • Collaborate with Co-Program Coordinator, Manager, and department Director to ensure seamless seasonal programming transitions.
  • Serve as an on-site lead for department events and ongoing programs.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines, including short-term, immediate logistics (i.e., scheduling and staffing) and longer-term organizational improvements (i.e., curricula development, program expansion, collaborative events).
  • Co-Direct summer Day Camp operations, including seasonal employee lifecycle, on-site logistics, and daily processes.
  • Promptly communicate professionally with families, participants, staff, and volunteers.
  • Comply and adhere to best-practice safety and risk management standards and documentation, including relevant emergency response.
  • Support recruitment and coordination of volunteers.
  • Train and manage relevant seasonal and program staff.
  • Inventory tracking
  • Troubleshooting and customer service
  • Collaborate with Registration Team to execute registration processes for Community Programs.
  • Verify background and reference checks, and volunteer service hours.
  • Accurately process data for relevant reporting, record retention, and archiving
  • Supervise temporary or seasonal administrative support staff as assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and standards maintained by Camp Fire and other relevant accreditors including the American Camp Association (ACA).
  • Maintain high-quality, safe, and welcoming program environments.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with Camp Sealth special events as able.
  • Serve on relevant boards and committees, and network within the Outdoor-Education and/or Youth Programming industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.
