Harborview Medical Center's Diabetes/Endocrine Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN).
WORK SCHEDULE:
* 100% FTE, M-F, no weekends OR holiday shifts allowing for work-life balance in the beautiful northwest community

DEPARTMENT
DESCRIPTION:
The Endocrinology/Diabetes Clinic at Harborview Medical Center cares for patients by offering evaluation, management and education for people with type 1 or 2 diabetes, endocrine diseases (thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, lipid and gonads), dyslipidemia and obesity.
We also offer thyroid fine needle biopsy for patients being evaluated for thyroid nodules.
Patient care includes a care coordinator who accesses resources, schedules appointments and addresses financial and insurance concerns; certified diabetic education nurses who provide diabetes education, management and support; registered dietitians who offer patient education, counseling and support for dietary needs regarding specific diagnoses; and social workers who assist with community resources and emotional and financial support.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides pre-assessment evaluation/intake assessments for patients seen in the multi-service, multi-specialty clinic
* Responsible for point of care procedures used in the clinic
* Responsible for peripheral and central catheter care, including insertion of peripheral catheters, monitoring and maintenance of peripheral IV lines, and port-a-caths
* Utilize clinic specific nursing process for the broad spectrum of patients seen in the clinics
* Develops, implements and supervises documentation of patient teaching which incorporates patient/family participation in health restoration, maintenance and promotion
* Participates in any ongoing quality improvement projects within the clinic
* Responsible for the professional development outside of the specific job requirements for HMC or the Specialty clinics
REQUIREMENTS:
* Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
* At least 1 year of RN experience, preferably diabetes/endocrine experience

$45.59 hourly

$84.47 hourly

$1.00/hour BSN premium
